Wallabies
Adorable mini kangaroos with big personalities
Meet Our Wallabies
Wallabies are smaller relatives of kangaroos, typically standing 1-3 feet tall. Despite their smaller size, they\'re just as fascinating and charming! Our wallabies are friendly, curious, and love interacting with gentle visitors.
Like kangaroos, wallabies are marsupials - meaning mothers carry their joeys in pouches. Wallabies are generally more docile and easier to approach than their larger cousins, making them perfect for up-close animal encounters!
Watch our wallabies hop around, groom themselves, and interact with each other. They\'re incredibly agile and can change direction mid-hop with amazing precision. Their soft fur and gentle nature make them visitor favorites!

Fun Wallaby Facts
Over 30 wallaby species exist
Wallabies range from the tiny 3-lb parma wallaby to the 50-lb red-necked wallaby!
Born the size of a jellybean
Wallaby joeys are born after just 30 days and are smaller than a grape - they crawl to the pouch to keep growing!
Joeys drink different milk
Mother wallabies produce two types of milk simultaneously - different formulas for joeys of different ages!
Powerful kick for self-defense
Wallabies balance on their tail and kick with both hind legs together - powerful enough to injure predators!
They can't hop backward
Like kangaroos, wallabies' leg structure only allows forward hopping - that's why they're on Australia's coat of arms!
Crepuscular feeders
Wallabies are most active at dawn and dusk, resting during the hottest and coldest parts of the day!
